The 2008 football season brought new young players to the forefront of the Carolina Stallions' Football Organization. They competed well for the first time against all veteran teams. The players came back and won against teams that defeated us early on in the season to post a 5-5 record to break five hundred football. Consequently, the team earned a playoff spot in the 2008 season. We lost to the Virginia Trojans (16-14) to end the season. We are looking ahead to a New Day! We are now a member of the Colonial Football League(CFL). We believe our players and fans will embrace the new league with the same enthusiasm in which they embraced the United Football League (UFL). We needed to give our team and players a better opportunity to achieve their goals, and give our organization a new and improved structure to compete in today's business. We extend a million thanks to all of our fans, sponsors, churches and community leaders for their support since the inception of the Carolina Stallions’ Football Organization. May God bless everyone, near and far, who have supported our program and continues to share a helping hand and dedicated spirit. We thank God for our players, coaches, staff and volunteers who work to keep our organization on the positive path within our vision and mission. We thank God for all the blessings he has showered upon our players, organization, city and country. We pray for our President, Barack Obama, to stand tall for those things that are just and right. Many times, we find that “change” is a great thing. Ultimately, those who oppose change are sometimes found to be the real problem. |

Coaches Corner
| The Carolina Stallions’ Football Organization is pleased to announce that Mr. Deandre Robbins, a defensive end of the 2009 Stallion Football Team has been awarded a full 4-year scholarship to Elizabeth City State University to obtain a 4-year degree and play football for the Vikings. Coach Michael Wright and Coach Waverly Tillar have worked together to make this possible. Coach Wright said, “I am very proud for Deandre, his family, and of course our organization that Elizabeth City State University has made the decision to pick this outstanding young man to award his play on the field. “ Deandre Robbins is from Wilmington, North Carolina, and participates in our pilot Second Chance Outreach Program by attending Edgecombe Community College. He is the son of Ms. Tasha Robbins, a single parent, who has worked hard in pushing her son to continue his football and educational aspirations. The Carolina Stallion Football Organization is dedicated to improve our community through athletics and education. Our mission is to encourage community empowerment by training and developing young people by sharing positive efforts and ideas to build character, courage and determination. Our coaching staff consists of dedicated role models who strive to develop and inspire young men to be productive citizens and mentors for youth. Coach Wright said, “we believe this outstanding opportunity will open many windows to athletic careers for our players in the near future, and will encourage them to strive to achieve their goals.” Coach Tillar said, “through the Carolina Stallion’s, we saw the ability of Deandre Robbins to play versatile positions at both defensive end and defensive tackle. We feel this will make a major contribution to our rebuilding process. We will continue to look at the Carolina Stallions’ Program for future talent.” Deandre said, “I look at the Stallion Program as a second chance and as a program on the rise which gives other athletes an opportunity to do the same. Coach Wright said if I came in and did what I needed to do and play football, he would work hard to do his part to see that I got an opportunity to enter into a collegiate football program. I am proud to accept the scholarship from Elizabeth City State University and I won’t let them down. |
